CodePlexContainer Gets Virtual Method Interception aka OB4Life Taking It Back

We (Brad and I) were at it again. After finishing up some other CodePlex tasks for the last few weeks, we are finally finished with the last big task for CodePlex Container: Virtual Method Interception.

Now that the container is finally done, I will be able to get back to finishing the EntLibRefactored project. This will involve me making some major changes to how EntLib works. During this time, maybe we can get xml configuration of the container so that the configuration of EntLib is at the container level. Right now it will be slow going (not my full time day job :)), yet I think this will be a much better design and use.

CodePlex Client June 2007

We just released the latest CodePlex Client with patch support. Read the pretty words here.

On a personal note, this has been a blast to work on with Brad. We have introduced some great customer value and a new version of ObjectBuilder fell out of us building a real application (I am sure someone will say they could have done it in 20 minutes with one hand tied behind their back :)).

CodePlex Source Control Client Shipped

When I joined the team in October, Brad was working on a little tool that would enable an "edit-merge-commit" style for CodePlex. This allows the ability to work offline with the TFS infrastructure. Over the past couple of months I have had the pleasure (Brad may not agree) of working on CodePlex Source Control Client (cpc). You can read all about it here.

Freezing Hell One Project at a Time

Open Source and Microsoft in the same sentence usually sets off the bozo alarm. I understand why, yet I think with projects like CodePlex, maybe we can change the communities thoughts around that. As a team we love the idea of collaborative development and CodePlex is our passion online ;). Personally, I love the idea of fostering the community around technology and watching it grow. I guess you can say that we have contributed to the Reports of Snowballs in Hell.

CodePlex for Everyone with Teamprise - It really is about the Community!

I have been working on CodePlex for a lot less time than Jim and the Gang, yet I have heard more than a couple of times that users want to have cross-platform access. Teamprise has just released a free version of their software that works with CodePlex. Jim has the write up here. I really am happy about this and think it is great for our customers, Microsoft and CodePlex. If you have a project on CodePlex or want a project on CodePlex and need an alternative client to connect to TFS, Teamprise is for you. And apparently for me:

Style vs Function - CSS

No matter the best laid intentions, things never work out how you want. We have been living with some CSS issues that we want to attack for a while here in the room. Yesterday I had an interesting conversation about how to solve this with John (a new cool guy in the room) and he suggested creating two files: one to handle the functional (the things that your site can't work without) and the style (aka theme). I like this and it makes me feel happy.
