I'm not sure what it is that causes developers to like progressive rock, but it's one of those odd things that many of my friends seem to have in common. Hearing the song playing right now reminded me that, while I went to get some lunch during the 2nd day of the p&p Summit in Boston, I heard Porcupine Tree coming from the speakers in the presentation room. Sure enough, another prog rock fan was found in Billy Hollis. We had a great chat about PT as well as some other bands we had in common (Marillion, Spock's Beard, etc.).
I'm always surprised at the sheer number of people who have the same musical tastes as I do, when the stuff I listen to tends to be such odd-ball, never-been-on-radio stuff. :)
